Auburn, Ala. – Alabama Power Company will close portions of Donahue Drive and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive while crews relocate power poles and transmission lines beginning Wednesday, May 21 – Friday, May 23. Work will begin each day at 7 a.m. Roads are expected to reopen by 4 p.m. on Wednesday & Thursday and 12 p.m. on Friday. The following portions of road will be closed:

Work schedules and road closings are subject to change in the event of inclement weather. Citizens are encouraged to visit the City of Auburn’s website at www.auburnalabama.org to view the latest news on street closings so they may adjust their routes accordingly.

This work is associated with the AL Highway 14 realignment, which includes widening Donahue Drive from Glenn Avenue to Bragg Avenue and rerouting Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to align with Bragg Avenue. Improvements will also be made at the intersection of Glenn Avenue and Donahue Drive to add protected left turn movements.
