>The OA News is reporting that the plans for the Shoppes at Capps Farm across I-85 from Lowes and TigerTown have been changed and are going to be brought to the Opelika Planning Commission for approval.

>>The developer as well as the Capps Family Partners have made changes to the plans such as removing walkways and fountains that were originally included in the plans and a subsequent rezoning request, said Opelika Planning Department Director Jerry Kelley.

>>The original concept of an open-air lifestyle center style development now has changed to a main shopping mall area and out-parcel, free-standing businesses style that resembles Tigertown.

>>The requested zoning changes for The Shoppes at Capps Farm would change it from a planned unit development district to a commercial office/retail and gateway corridor district.

>>The revised plans currently include a main shopping area with a theater and two hotel lots.

>>We will continue to update this story as we get reports from the planning commision and other sources.
