Auburn, Ala. – Officials with Seohan Auto USA and Seohan-NTN USA will mark the grand opening of their $20 million Auburn facility with a ceremony on the Seohan campus at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11.

Organizers expect the event to be an international affair. Officials from Seohan’s parent company, Korea Flange, and NTN Japan will join Seohan Industries Corporation President Yong-Suk Kim, NTN USA Corporation President Tadadoshi Kato, Seohan Auto USA and Seohan-NTN Driveshaft USA President Sang Kyu Lee, Alabama Development Officer Director Neal Wade, Auburn Mayor Bill Ham and other local and state officials in attendance.

The 240,000-square foot factory, located at 246 Teague Court in the Auburn Industrial Park, was completed this spring. Production lines have been set up, and more than 50 local residents have been hired and trained since company officials moved into the building in April. By this winter, the facility will boast 70 employees.

Seohan Auto USA Corporation is a joint investment by Korea Flange Corporation and Seohan Industries Corporation, while Seohan-NTN Driveshaft USA Corporation is a joint investment by Seohan Industrial and NTN. Both are Tier 1 automotive suppliers to Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia. The companies will produce front axles and rear carrier assemblies for Hyundai’s Sonata and SantaFe models and driveshaft assemblies for the SantaFe and KIA’s next Sorento model. Mass production began on April 14, and first products were shipped May 28.
